Don’t use diamond to cut metal. You can buy abrasive blades for a couple of bucks that work much better for metal. Hope this helps.

I am assuming that you are talking about a 4-inch peanut grinder type of affair:
If I were going to cut chain, I would replace my diamond blade with a metal cutting composite blade and save my diamond blade for other work. The metal cutting composite blades are a lot cheaper too. Wear goggles AND a face shield.

Diamond blades are for stone or tile. A carborundum blade is for steel and other metals.

Diamond cutting tools are primarily used for masonry/stone cutting. NOT metal working.

Yes it will ruin the blade.

It’s not a metal cutting tool.
Get the proper disc and it’ll be faster, safer and cheaper.
    Wear eye protection.

It is diamond. The hardest substance known. Just a waste on regular steel.
You could use a regular hacksaw blade or a metal cutting disk on you grinder.
