Why can’t people stop arguing about religons and politics?
There must be religious tolerance and, also, tolerance of different creed and cultures. Let the many cultures do their own thing and leave them alone to be whom ever they choose to be.
Wasn’t that the whole point with the founding fathers? Isn’t that fair? Why do some insist that ethnically distinct groups change? Why must they change, damn it? That is what I call true diversity. That is the traditional American way, not a sausage grinder mentality streaming out uniform links. That might be good for the military. Not for society in general.

Why do you insist on raising an argument about another argument?
This is a very broad Question, however that’s what they call ignorance. It really depends on the culture. Family takes part in that, for example your children could be listening to you for years about hating a country or a religion. For example, Americans could merge in other cultures and could live with other cultures and adapt easily. However, Europeans mostly cant.
Your question shows little insight into people in general. Why must there be religious tolerance? To what end must I endure someone telling me I am a sinner and going to go to hell. Isn’t that intolerant? I ask this question knowing the answer. Perhaps I should just tolerate such things? What if I find it insulting? What sort of Response should I give? Shouldn’t I just tolerate there views?
Wait what if they are right? Maybe I should discuss it with them? What if we can never agree? I think I’d rather have the discourse with truth as a goal. Or at least a sincere desire to get more insight into what it is that is truly important. There is no shame in disagreeing with someone based on your best and honest interpretation of the facts. What is more of a shame is letting people go down disastrous roads and not letting them know. There is the heart of our disagreement. You have people with completely different values and viewpoints, vying for control of what they see as the best way to do things, and the bad part is they cant do things completely one way for one set of people, and do things a completely different way for another. If conservatives and liberals could separate themselves from each other and run things there own way without forcing the other side to do it there way as well this wouldn’t be an issue.
Simple, religion, politics, and race are cues by which people identify themselves. When people share these, they have less stress because they know how each other will act and know that people that are like them will likely not take advantage of or intentionally harm them.
When there are differences, this causes stress because either people KNOW other groups disagree with them and will possibly cause them harm or know for sure the other group will intentionally try to cause conflict with their way of life.
The founding fathers intended–courtesy of protected speech and widespread employment of militia–that local groups would form with an identity based on a locality–instead of being primarily racial, religious, and political–that could be expanded by areas–such as districts, counties, states–to form larger groups where consensus based on both individual security (courtesy of arms/militia) and identity could be made.
Essentially, by ensuring each individual group had the means to protect their own interests, they could cooperate with other groups with less fear.
The problem is many/most people these days do not feel secure because they lack the means and mentality to challenge fear. They have given that power to the police. This makes them trust in government for security and try to employ government influence and social pressure to force others who do not share their politics/religion/race into complying with their wishes so they feel safe again.
Because politics and religion breed intolerance.
