One of the best pieces of kit in my entire workshop. Easy to use, good manual and DVD instruction and outstanding results with near perfect repeatability. Incredibly versatile and easy enough to use most of the jigs, if you follow the basic instructions and practice enough to become familiar you will be able to sharpen equipment to a higher degree and faster than you ever thought possible; Very well built and worth every cent. Highly recommended!

I am a butcher/ meat cutter for 20 years and I have been looking for something to keep my knife’s sharp. and the Tormek T-7 in my eyes is the best for what you get, i cut 8 hours a day and after a week my knife’s are still razer sharp.

you get the angle setter that comes with it is spot on and you cant go wrong with it. All butchers meat cutters out there buy one, i have my one for over a year and would not change it for something that is cheaper.

It’s the best I have worked with you only take 3 or 4 runs over the stone and your knife is so sharp and fast.

Simply amazing. I own the T-7 as well as the long and short knife jigs. I use it primarily for sharpening chisels and plane blades, but also use it to sharpen my kitchen knives.

Yes, it is expensive, but I believe it is worth every penny. Economically at the rate at which I use my chisels and plane irons, I would have the machine paid off in about 2 to 3 years compared to a commercial sharpening service. Admittedly I also own several high quality waterstones, but I find it’s significantly easier to use the T-7 and to achieve a sharper endstate making it more likely that I keep my blades sharp. Then, there is the simple joy of having razor sharp tools that cut cleanly and with minimal effort. From a safety perspective, having sharp tools increases your control.

The machine works well and is built like it should last forever. I recall a recent Fine WoodWorking article where they rebuilt their shop Tormek after several years of daily hard use. With the exception of the grinding wheel itself which is a normal wear item, the items FWW replaced have since been upgraded on the T-7 to stainless steel to eliminate rust.

I expect that my son will be pleased to inherit it one day far (I hope) in the future. I believe it will also give him a lifetime of service (he’s currently 3)!

This is a fine sharpner. I reviewed the feedback and reviews on the Tormek, Jet, and Grizzly. Based upon the reviews, I went with the Tormek. The Tormek sharpened my planer and jointer blades better than new. The square edge jig does a fine job on chisels and plane blades. My chisels are sharp enough to shave with. The motor does not bog down and has a 100% duty cycle. The bushings on the square edge jig do not pop off as they do on the Jet. The truing tool works great. The bottom line is that this sharpner works with no hassels. I have my own business. I need a dependable tool that works without me “tweeking” it in order to do the job. It works as is and has a seven year warranty.

I have researched and tried a number of sharpening systems and this is by far the best on the market. the only downside is the price. But like most things in life, to buy the best, you pay for it. It is a joy to use this system. the easy and speed of use along with its repeatability makes this the most used tool in the shop. To give you an idea of the speed of this system, on the first night i had it set up i sharpened 8 hand planes and 12 chisels in about an hour. previously that would have taken over 5 hours on my old wet stone. The accessories are also quite remarkable. so far i have bought the wood turning kit, and the long and short knife kits. Every one adds value to the system.
