Metabo W23-180 606410420 7-Inch Angle Grinder with M14 Spindle

Got a great deal on this through Amazon, and I bought it in spite of the metric spindle size. I figured, I’d just use whatever spindle stuff came with the tool, and wouldn’t worry about what size it was so much. Didn’t realize that the tool would be shipped with nothing on the spindle: no nuts, washers, or anything. There was no spanner in the box, either. These items are to be purchased separately, you see, and is the reason for four stars instead of five… anyway, after hunting all over for M14 accessories and finding very few, I finally decided to try a 5/8″ – 11 nut on the spindle and then came the aha! moment: the spindle is the standard size, not the metric. So the easily obtainable SAE size accessories all fit. The tool itself has some nice features, the spindle lock is easy to work and the switch handle can be rotated and locked in 90-degree increments around the tool body to accomodate the work you’re doing. Tool is solid and well-made. …and I’m glad it isn’t metric after all.
