Very easy to handle, plenty of power without sacrificing ease of handling. Quality is exellent as you would expect from Makita.

What a great tool and a terrific price. This power tool has endured more work than any powertool I own for work on our boat, Raggedy Edge. Grinding fiberglass, rough sanding wood, This thing comes thru a cloud of fiberglass snow with flying colors. Powerful yet manageable even with fore handle removed to get into the tight quarters of a boat. This tool with a 36 grit “flapper” style pad with chew thru anything. One of my all time favorite power tool purchases.

This is one “hungry” grinder!! I do some welding on our ranch and cleaning up, or prepping the weld area is a breeze now. I had an older 4″ Makita that finally died and needed a replacement. I am finishing overlaying a patio with quartz flagstone, so the included diamond blade is a real bonus for me. One flaw that I think all these grinders have is the “paddle” on-off switch. Works OK for most applications, but I found that the switch on my other Makita broke due to quartz dust getting into the switch. I think on this one I will tape a piece of old tee-shirt over the switch to filter the dust.
