The condition of the grinder was the same as new. It runs with only a minimum of vibration and the included large white stone is exactly right for the sharpening that this tool is meant to do. The smaller white stone works well also. The only problem I see is that when the grinder is positioned where I want it, the small wheel is lower than I would like. Since the primary sharpening is done on the large wheel and the small one mainly is used to rough-out edges, this has not been a big concern. The tool rest for the large wheel is adequate for most of my uses but I probably will make an auxiliary rest for sharpening my turning gouges. The tool is a joy to use.
