Pointing in brickwork is done on the joints horizontally and vertically. In old or existing walls the pointing may chip off or become defective. The joints of mortar may be cracked and warped. This work can be corrected by repointing the brickwork. This has to be done delicately to avoid breaking or damaging the existing wall surfaces. The dried and cracked mortar from the joints is hacked off carefully. It is better if available to use a grinder for this work.

When repointing the brickwork, any cracked units should also be removed. This will ensure that the finished work looks good. The mortar mix to be used should be in the ratio of one part cement and two parts sand. Since this work is a repeat, the sand should be sieved with a gauze wire to make it fine. The existing brickwork wall should also be checked for other defects before chipping out the loose mortar. This defects include vertical or horizontal cracks.

Repointing work commences by removing the old mortar with a grinder or chisel. This is done about half to three quarter inch deep. It is important to ensure any cracked mortar is removed and brushed off. A rounded steel bar of half an inch is used for the pointing. Once the dried mortar is removed and brushed off, the wall is adequately watered. This should be done continuously for one hour. After watering the whole surface then the repointing can commence.

The repointing mortar is mixed and applied to the open joints. The mix should not be very soft nor hard. A trowel is used for putting the mortar carefully into the joints. The round bar is then used to key in the mortar firmly in the joint. The mortar should be allowed to splutter onto the brick wall. A hand brush is used to remove the excess mortar. The process is repeated on the whole wall surface. After completion, the wall is watered after twenty four hours for one week.

Natural stone is the stone which is formed with different colors, beauty and with its own shines. Natural stones like marble, granite, limestone and any other variety shine mainly because of the fine polish given to the natural stone. Generally everybody knows that natural stone is made up of fine crystals. This crystal contains different minerals and this minerals forms different shapes. When natural stones are extracted from the quarry, the surface of this stones will be very hard.

Usually natural stone exit with its own shine, but when a polish is given to the surface the original beauty expose their. Since grinders are used to extract the natural stones granite, marble, lime stone the surface finds to be harder. While extracting, the natural shine of the stone may get damaged. Grinders are used to cut the rough edges of the natural stones by the scratching the stone till it gets finer. This scratch takes place till the stone becomes finer and finer. The process of grinding ends up when the surface of the stone gets very smoother. The grinding process of the crystals takes place in a slow process until the natural stone becomes finer and finer and its surface are perfectly flat and smooth in each other.

The perfection of the natural stone should have a flat surface and its polish should reflect more beautiful with uniformity. When natural stones surface are flat then you get a perfect stone with incredible shine. When natural stones are chosen for flooring, they finds difficult because it is the hardest material with more durability. It is especially chosen for countertops, sinks, tiles, slabs and bathtubs because of its resistance to heat, acid, stain and moisture. The natural stones hardness can be removed easily from the stone, when a polish is provided for the stone to obtain its natural shine. Natural stone shine is the important factor to be considered, when granite, marbles are installed.

The shine property of the natural stone exist because of the property exist and not because of the any property added. The shiness of the natural stone can be retained using an abrasive crystalline compound and any buffer. This crystalline can be used to remove the scratches and stains from the floor. When the natural stone is harder, then it becomes more difficult to grind, but more shines can be achieved from the stone. Every natural stone differs with shine compared to other natural stone. Many people realize that natural stone beauty is because of the shine created through the polish.

Some care should be taken when choosing a new cookware set, as it is something you will be using for many years. Don’t pick your cookware because you like the color. Now that I’ve said that, I must admit that I own red cookware, but it is of very high quality and I have been pleased with it for a long time. Some of the things to keep in mind when choosing new cookware are outlined below.

One of the most important things to consider is what the cookware is made from. There is a wide range to choose from and some of the more preferred options are copper, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Professional chefs have long preferred copper, due to its excellent conductivity, its ability to heat up quickly and evenly, and the way it can rapidly cool when the heat is decreased. Due to the way copper reacts to the acidity in some foods, it must be combined with other materials such as stainless steel. Hand washing is needed for copper cookware, but some cooks think it is worth the time and effort.

Stainless steel is low maintenance, cleans easily, doesn’t rust or scratch, and won’t react to acidic foods. Unfortunately, it is a poor conductor of heat. Stainless steel functions better when combined with aluminum or copper to aid in heat conduction while still maintaining an easy cleanup.

Aluminum is both lightweight and a good heat conductor, but it is not very strong and reacts poorly to foods containing acid. Cookware made from aluminum is generally coated or bonded with a different metal such as stainless steel. An electrolytic process referred to as anodizing can make aluminum more durable. This process creates a durable oxide surface causing aluminum to become hard and non-reactive; it also has a nice-looking finish.

Some sets have non-stick surfaces on the inside. There are positives and negatives to this. Clean up is simple with them, plus they require less oil to keep foods from adhering to the surface. But keep in mind that high temperatures and metal utensils can remove the non-stick surface, causing flakes of metal to end up in your food. If the inside of the pan is damaged, it doesn’t matter if the outside looks good. You need to throw the pan out.

Try to find more substantial cookware that will stay firmly in place on the stove and not shift too easily. Rivets should be used to attach the handle to the pan. Make sure that the handle is heat resistant so that you can touch it without using a pot holder. Big, solid skillets should be manufactured with an extra little handle opposite the large one to help with lifting. Right now glass lids that you can see through are quite popular. They should fit tightly and have handles that resist heat.

There are many types of coating and combinations of cookware available today, allowing for the use of color on the outside. Benefit by searching for a set that is just right for you, knowing that your choice will last for a long time.
