is it possible to make ground chicken without a meat grinder?

I want to make a chili using ground chicken. But I have chicken breasts. Is there anyway that I can make ground chicken without spending money to buy a meat grinder?
hmmm… gave it a go with my blender (don’t have a food processor) and came out gooey.. forget the chili I’m making a meatloaf!!

Can you get sick from using an older meat grinder?

I have properly cleaned an old fashion meat hand grinder, and sanded any rust off it with steel wool pad. And washed again with bleach and rinsed.

Is there anything else I should do to make sure it’s safe. Also, what ailments if any could arise, so I can keep and eye out.

we are looking for a heavy duty grinder for food. we need a grinder to grind up roots into powder, and we don’t think that a coffee grinder will do the job.
can we put things besides meat in a meat grinder?
if not, what would you suggest grinding roots in?
we are looking for an electric grinder.
