I bought the slicer/shredder attachment, the hard to find 3 qt. bowl with whisk attachment (because a 6 qt. bowl won’t be needed every time), it comes with the flat paddle, a dough hook and pouring shield. What do you think of the pasta roller? Should I get the mean grinder and the pasta attachments with that or the pasta roller? I don’t need the sausage stuffer, but what other attachments would be handy? Thanks in advance!
Well the meat grinder actually would be used for making baby food, not grinding meat. But I know what you mean.

Good Morning,Ya’ll,my DH and I are looking to purchase a new coffee maker and grinder for Christmas for our home. We were looking at purchasing a combo in the Cuisinart Grind & Brew model with a stainless thermal carafe. Does anyone own this type model or give us any suggestions on coffee markers with a bean grinder or an outstanding single coffee marker that has a stainless carafe and a separate brand of bean grinder? One of my main issues with the combo model would be clugging up and cleaning. Thanks any suggestions and Merry Christmas Ya’ll!!!!
PS-We have had Bunn, Mr. Coffee,KitchenAid brand coffee makers:( and our bean grinder is KitchenAid:(

People enjoy decorating their kitchen with the finest cutlery, bake ware and designer cookware models that can be found. They will spend countless hours shopping so that they can lavish their countertops with small appliances that enable them to outperform a seasoned chef. There are gadgets that come their way, that make their job in the kitchen seem very simple indeed, which makes them want to spend more time in the kitchen preparing meals for the family that are truly delectable.

The small appliances that find their way into our daily lives every morning might include coffee makers, coffee grinders, and mini-electric skillets. People enjoy starting their day with freshly ground coffee that is coupled with a delightful stack of hotcakes and bacon. Any family would be proud to start their day in this fashion, and each new day will give them renewed energy to face a very busy world.

When people are afforded the opportunity to save money on their appliances through rebates offered through the manufacturer and find additional deep discounts at the check-out counter, they will typically choose to add to their great buys for the day and go home with new toasters, food choppers and other useful countertop items. Their kitchens will then feature the most up-to-date color schemes and cooking tools that are available on the market today.

For entertaining their friends, people typically purchase fondue pots, food processors and drink mixers to provide their guests with tasty treats throughout the evening. The food processors will allow them to create imaginative sandwiches filled with delectable lobster, crab meat or chicken fillings. As people enjoy their favorite drinks, they will also be enjoying fine cuisine and outstanding conversation.

Meats can be expertly carved with electric knives that expertly slice through economy meets in half the time it would normally take to prepare evening meals. Many sonic knives are cordless to allow cooks a more portable method to cut their meats and vegetable and frozen items in double quick time.

For busy families, there are many slow cooker models that will let you prepare meals when you are away from home. There are knife sharpeners that will keep your new set of knives in top operating condition. There are specialty cooking gadgets that will make preparing outdoor barbeques the talk of the neighborhood.

Many online kitchen collections offer clearance items and refurbished kitchen tools that perform as new but are offered at below-market price and will save families a lot of money for use in other family activities. These discounted items are still eligible for product warranty coverage and will offer your family many years of useful service.

Imagine the shopping choices you will have when you see major brands such as Cuisinart, KitchenAid, Edgecraft, Waring and Hamilton Beach offered at amazing prices that can not be found in major department stores. The ease of selecting items in these product lines is simplified through an easy point and click category choice, and a speedy check-out system will not cause a delay in your day in any way.

Have you recently purchased a quality coffee maker for your home, but still find yourself running to the local coffee shop for that “special” tasting cup of brew? If so, you’re probably wasting a ton of money! Let me give you the best advice on making gourmet coffee at home!

Coffee: The first step in making that coffee house style is brew found in the perfect coffee bean. Yes, I hate to break it to you – but if you really want gourmet – you should start by grinding your own beans. Now, before we jump ahead to grinding your beans, you have to buy the best quality to start with. There is a wide variety of beans available on the market, from Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts to brands not known on a national scale. I personally suggest beans from The Roasterie in Kansas City Missouri. Their line includes

a ton of flavors, but what they are most widely known for is the fact that they air roast their beans which leads to a more pure, better taste and aroma.

Water: You’d be surprised to know that the water you use really does make a huge difference in the taste of the final product. Most coffee makers have filters built in, so be sure to change yours on a regular basis. If your coffee machine does not have one built in, use filtered water instead of tap water. This should be done whether you are using a $300 machine or a generic $20 unit.

Grinder: Many will tell you that it is ok to use pre-ground breans, but I whole-heatedly disagree. The oils in pre-ground coffee beans tend to evaporate, causing them to lose some of their flavor. Make the investment and get a good grinder. For many aficionados, grinding beans is an art form – and as with any art, the artist is only as good as the tools he uses. You may be tempted to get one of the smaller (and cheaper) push down grinders – if that’s all that’s in your budget, be prepared to practice – a LOT! You do not want to over grind because it makes the coffee bitter. It is better to use a little more bean than to risk over grinding. The Kitchenaid Coffee Burr is a great grinder and worth the investment (search for sales and deals online to soften the blow to the wallet)

Bean Storage: You’ll likely find yourself storing your beans in the fridge or the freezer, but keep in mind that in order for the flavors to truly come forward – they have to be at room temperature. If you have more beans than you’ll use – keep them in an air tight container and place them in the freezer. When you remove them from the freezer for use, it is best to let them sit and “thaw” out for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Now these are just my personal tips from my very own kitchen, but you’ll need to really play around with your own recipes and understand your particulars when it comes to taste.

Does your kitchen look a little sparse? Whether you’re just getting your own place or if you simply don’t have much experience in the kitchen, you could be missing out on great food (and fun!) due to lack of gadgets! Yes, gadgets can play an important role in the way your food turns out; not to mention the fact that the entire idea behind a kitchen gadget is to make cooking more convenient—thus you actually save time in preparing your meal. To give you an idea of which gadgets will save you a great deal of hassle, we’ve put together the following list…

Titan Peeler & Grater
There’s a new and impressive tool out called the Titan Vegetable and Fruit Peeler, which can do the job of both a peeler and a grater, but it also has the ability to peel fruit and harder vegetables such as squash and onions. It’s a pretty heavy-duty tool, so it might be something to consider if you see yourself doing a lot of shredding, grating, and peeling!

Kitchen Mixer
A kitchen mixer is a FANTASTIC tool to have if you do any kind of mixing. Making dough for bread, pizza crust, pastries, or even whipping up a quick cake batter is a much easier task if you have an electric mixer. Mixers come in a variety of prices, which are dependent upon the capability and quality of the machine you want to purchase. Brands such as KitchenAid and Cuisineart will cost quite a lot more than most other brands because they are the top names in small kitchen appliances, but they are also very durable (which is good if you’re going to use a mixer often), but plenty of cheaper brands work just as well.

Thermometer
It’s always a good idea to have a cooking thermometer handy, and not just for the holidays. Any time you cook pork, turkey, chicken, etc. should pop in your handy thermometer to test whether the meat has been cooked to a safe temperature.

Meat Tenderizer
A meat tenderizer looks like a mallet with a series of pyramid-like peaks on both sides. Like your steak tender? Give it several good whacks with the tenderizer (on both sides) just before cooking it and you are sure to notice a huge difference in the softness of your steak. You can also use the tenderizer for chicken and turkey breasts.

Coffee Grinder
What’s better than freshly ground coffee in the morning? Buy your favorite coffee in bean form, fill the grinder’s cup, switch it on and presto: you’ve got ground coffee in seconds!

Egg Poacher
Poached eggs on toast is a terrific breakfast, but poaching without egg poaching pods is a pain in the rear! Just pop a “pod” in a pan of boiling water (don’t worry, it’ll float!), put in your egg (sans shell) and let it cook.

As far as gadgets go, this is merely skimming the surface. There is a sea of fantastic and odd kitchen gadgets available on the market. Have a look online or browse local shops that sell kitchenware; you never know what gem you will find!
