Can you get sick from using an older meat grinder?

I have properly cleaned an old fashion meat hand grinder, and sanded any rust off it with steel wool pad. And washed again with bleach and rinsed.

Is there anything else I should do to make sure it’s safe. Also, what ailments if any could arise, so I can keep and eye out.

I’m not guessing so. I guess you just need to properly clean it.

The bleach and the scrubbing should have killed anything that was on it, but make sure you got all in any little parts, the heads of screws, and all of that too. Try to get some good disinfectant or at least clean it with some alcohol and it should be fine.

I have one that is prone to rusting.
I wash really well, let it dry in heat like the sun or oven on low.
When completely dry I massage oil (Cooking) right through it.
Wrap in an old towel and store somewhere dark and warm.
It works for me and I have an industrial mincer.
    You don’t want food poisoning.
    Good luck
