Can I use Sea Salt in a pepper mill?

I want to crush sea salt at the dining room table, but cannot find any salt grinders that I like. Can I use salt in my pepper grinder? Will it be effective?

    I don’t see why not.

No. It’s called a pepper mill not a sea salt mill.

Be sure you pepper grinder is made with solid stainless steel. Otherwise the salt can rust the workings and slowly poison you. The plated stainless steel has a tendency to strip off and rot out.

Yes, you should have the same effect. Just realize that salt makes metals corrode or rust, so you’ll need to replace your pepper mill on a regular basis…….like maybe twice a year…if that much. Best of luck to you.
